Membership

In order to grow Pencak Silat and promote it in Canada, we have opened membership for all clubs and schools that are interested and subscribe to the objectives of the federation. Our federation is a registered Non-for-profit organization governed by the Canadian non-for-profit act as well as the PERSILAT guidelines and ethics.

Membership is open for all Silat Martial Arts schools in Canada that subscribe to the vision, mission and goals of the federation and fulfill the following requirement:

a. Being registered as a legal entity in Canada 

b. Being in operation as primarily a Silat Martial Arts School but exceptions can be made for some schools that may teach other styles of Martial Arts but at the same time they have separate and dedicated Silat classes.

c. To pay the annual membership fees of $150/year

d. To attend the annual general meeting unless a written notice is sent 1 week prior to the meeting

e. To promote and teach an authentic style of Pencak Silat Martial Arts that is originating from one of the following countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei or Singapore

f. To implement and teach the Federation’s Jurus Wajib and Unified Seni

g. To abide with the federation bylaws and regulations including the Rules & Regulations of PERSILAT

h. To represent the federation locally or internationally only by written consent from the board of directors and executives of the federation
